Although CND Shellac and Gel Bottle Inc. are extremely hard wearing, they are not bulletproof and will need a little help.
Gel polishes do not like water or cleaning products so wearing gloves when washing up or spring cleaning will help protect your manicure.
Chlorinated water and excessive sun can cause damage to your polish as will sun tan oils and insect repellant.
Using cuticle oil at least twice a day (especially at night before going to bed) will keep your natural nails and the skin surrounding them healthy, moisturised and flexible which will prolong the life of your gel polish.
Finding the end of sellotape and clingfilm are to blame for the majority of nail polish casualities as are cheese graters and potato peelers! Please don't use your nails as tools!!!
HOWEVER - we all lead busy lives so please don't let your nails dictate what you can and can't do. Any problems, just let me know and I will do what I can to get them looking perfect again.
Should any lifting or chips appear within the first 7 days I will carry out a repair for free however any repairs after 7 days will be chargeable.
If something you have done has caused a chip or lifted an edge of your polish manicure, please do NOT pick it as this will cause the damage to increase. Please contact me so we can assess the nail and decide if a repair is necessary.
If you wish to temporarily change the color of your nails while wearing gel polish, you can use normal nail polish over the top of the gel polish but please be sure to use a non-acetone remover.
Incorrect removal of gel polish at home can cause damage. Please contact me and I will remove it safely for you and give you a mini-manicure so your natural nails look perfectly groomed. This costs €10 as per my treatment page.
